Reiki has gained popularity as a holistic healing practice, yet many people still have questions about what it entails, how it works, and what to expect. Here’s a breakdown of some of the most common questions I get regarding my Reiki treatment.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. I am trained in Tera Mai Reiki and Seichem. Within my practice, I have been trained to remove unwanted energy from the aura and chakras using a number of different strategies and channel universal life energy and universal elementals to the recipient. Seichem is one of the healing arts practised in ancient Egypt and was rediscovered in 1980 by Patrick Zeigler.

What Can I Expect During a Reiki Session?

During a typical session, you'll lie down fully clothed while I, the practitioner, lightly places my hands on or near your body. The atmosphere is peaceful and soothing, often accompanied by soft music or ambient sounds. My sessions typically last between 50 - 60 minutes.

Is Reiki Safe?

Yes, Reiki is considered a safe practice for people of all ages. It’s non-invasive and can complement traditional medical treatments. However, it’s essential to inform me about any medical conditions or treatments you’re undergoing.

What Are the Benefits of Reiki?

Many of my clients report a variety of benefits, including:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • Enhanced relaxation

  • Improved emotional well-being

  • Relief from physical pain

  • Increased energy and clarity

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some people may feel a significant shift after just one session, while others might benefit from a series of treatments over time. It’s best to discuss your intentions with me, your practitioner, to create a tailored approach.

What Should I Do After a Reiki Session?

Post-session, it’s common to feel relaxed or even a bit sleepy. Take time to rest and hydrate. Some people find journaling their experiences helpful, as it can deepen their understanding of the energy shifts they felt during the session.

Can Reiki Help with Specific Health Issues?

While Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment, many individuals find it supportive for a range of conditions, such as chronic pain, insomnia, and emotional distress. Always consult with a healthcare professional regarding specific health concerns.

Is Reiki a Religious Practice?

Reiki itself is not tied to any specific religion, although it does have spiritual components. It can be practiced by individuals of all faiths or those who identify as spiritual but not religious. The focus is primarily on healing and energy work.

Is Reiki the right treatment for me?

Reiki offers a unique approach to wellness that many find beneficial. If you’re considering a Reiki treatment, I recommend you ask as many questions as you need to gain understanding on what to expect which will help you feel more comfortable and open to the experience. Whether you’re seeking stress relief, emotional balance, or physical healing, Reiki may provide a valuable addition to your self-care routine.

If you feel drawn to receive reiki healing from me, I would love to hear from you.

Sending Love & Light xxxx
